Leipzig, Nuremberg, January 3, 2011 – The Sietzsch solar park, approximately 30 km northwest of Leipzig, was built on December 31, 2010. Exactly 90 days after the official start of construction, all 52,206 modules from the manufacturers BP Solar and IBC Solar were installed and electrically connected on the 33-hectare commercial site.
The total output of the modules is around 12 MWp, making the solar park located in Saxony-Anhalt one of the largest photovoltaic projects in Germany. Eight inverter stations with 21 Converteam inverters of the type of PSC-525-MV-L-QC convert the solar power into alternating voltage before it travels to Envia Verteilnetz GmbH’s Reußen substation, six kilometers away. The annual yield will be around 11.6 million kWh, which is enough electricity to supply around 3,300 three-person households.
The investor was selected in collaboration with Nuremberg-based greenValue GmbH. “The 30-million-euro project was acquired by the experienced Cologne investment company Wattner, which specializes in investments in renewable energy projects,” explains Daniel Kellermann, managing director of greenValue GmbH.
“For us as general contractors, the Sietzsch solar park is the largest solar park to date,” says Andreas Renker, managing director of Green Energy 3000 GmbH. “Ice and snow caused problems for the assembly teams. However, by increasing the personnel and installing in two shifts, we managed to stick to the schedule exactly,” explains A. Renker. With the Sietzsch solar park, the Green Energy 3000 is again proving its performance. This major project was completed within a very short time in extreme weather conditions.
