Compared to the previous year, the number of registered electric cars increased by over 50% by the beginning of 2019. At first glance, an impressive increase. According to the Federal Renewable Energy Agency\u2019s (AEE) state portal on electromobility, Hamburg is at the top with a share of just under 0.3%. When it comes to the absolute number of electric cars, Bavaria leads. Over 20,000 electric vehicles make up almost a quarter of the total number of electrically powered cars in Germany. Schleswig-Holstein is a pioneer when it comes to new registrations of electric cars. In the northernmost federal state, the proportion of electric cars is over 1.5% of total registrations.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Electro Mobility as Factor to lower greenhouse gas emissions<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Dr. Robert Brandt, the managing director of AEE, sees electromobility as a necessary factor to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the transport sector and achieve climate goals. However, market developments for electric cars are still moving too slowly in this direction. There are also currently some challenges, including the expansion and use of renewable energies.
